Job summary

The Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a Cardiothoracic Radiologist for the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System in Tucson, AZ. This full-time role focuses on advanced cardiothoracic imaging and multidisciplinary collaboration to serve Veterans.

You will interpret chest radiographs, CT, MRI, and fluoroscopy; participate in tumor boards and quality programs; and contribute to education of residents and technologists while maintaining comprehensive medical records.

Qualifications

U.S. citizenship required; non-citizens considered only if qualified citizens cannot be recruited per VA policy.
MD or DO from a VA-approved school or equivalent.
Current, full, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory.
Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Radiology residency (VA Secretary-approved).

Responsibilities

Interpret chest radiographs, CT, MRI, and fluoroscopic exams with cardiothoracic expertise.
Provide timely, accurate reports and communicate critical findings directly to ordering providers.
Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards, peer review, and quality management activities.
Support resident and technologist education, pre-procedure lab review, and study protocoling.
Maintain complete, current clinical records in accordance with VA regulations.
