Job summary

The Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a Cardiothoracic Radiologist for the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System in Tucson, AZ. This full-time role focuses on advanced cardiothoracic imaging and multidisciplinary collaboration to serve Veterans.

You will interpret chest radiographs, CT, MRI, and fluoroscopy; participate in tumor boards and quality programs; and contribute to education of residents and technologists while maintaining comprehensive medical records.

Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship required; non-citizens considered only if qualified citizens cannot be recruited per VA policy.
  • MD or DO from a VA-approved school or equivalent.
  • Current, full, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory.
  • Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Radiology residency (VA Secretary-approved).

Responsibilities

  • Interpret chest radiographs, CT, MRI, and fluoroscopic exams with cardiothoracic expertise.
  • Provide timely, accurate reports and communicate critical findings directly to ordering providers.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards, peer review, and quality management activities.
  • Support resident and technologist education, pre-procedure lab review, and study protocoling.
  • Maintain complete, current clinical records in accordance with VA regulations.
