Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a perioperative registered nurse to provide intraoperative care in the scrub and circulating roles. The role requires adapting to neonate through geriatric patients and includes scheduled call, weekends, nights and holidays.

Responsibilities include scrubbing and circulating independently, preparing for cases, maintaining aseptic technique, data collection for nursing diagnoses, and clear communication with the care team.

Qualifications

• Current or compact RN license issued/defined by the State of Iowa.
• BLS certification within six weeks of hire is required.
• Proof of Mandatory Reporter abuse training within three months of hire.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Nursing experience in the operating room preferred.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs and circulates on cases independently with minimal direction.
• Prepares for surgical cases efficiently, anticipating needs of patient, surgeon, anesthesia and OR team.
• Maintains a safe environment by adhering to aseptic technique and by managing the physical/psychological space.
• Collects and analyzes patient data to support nursing diagnoses.
• Communicates effectively with patients, staff, physicians and families.
• Maintains knowledge of OR equipment setup and function.
• Initiates and directs room turnover and cleanup.
