Job summary

3M HEALTHCARE is seeking an Advanced Practice Professional for the Heart and Vascular Institute's Cardiothoracic Surgery teams. The role supports inpatient and ambulatory CT surgery care, performing rounds, assessments, and care planning in collaboration with faculty and the team.

Eligible new graduates considered; CT surgery, acute care, or cardiology experience preferred. Strong communication and EMR skills are essential for patient-centered outcomes and efficient handoffs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
• Licensure, or eligibility for licensure, as a professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required. Additional life support certification at the discretion of the department.
• ANOR CNOR Certificate program for First Assist privileges may be required.
• ACLS at the discretion of the department.

Responsibilities

• Manages comprehensive and individualized care for cardiothoracic surgery patients in inpatient and post-discharge settings.
• Performs rounds, assessments, and documents plan in the EMR.
• Orders labs/diagnostics and interprets results per guidelines and scope of practice.
• Leads discharge planning and coordination with health-care team.
• Demonstrates critical thinking and teaching to staff and patients.
