Job summary

UCSF Health, AG is recruiting an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner for the Cardiothoracic Surgery inpatient team. You will collaborate with CT surgeons, fellows, and intensivists to manage patients across the inpatient stay, perform bedside procedures, and assist in the operating room when needed.

The role requires CA RN and NP licenses, board certification (ACNP-BC/AGACNP-BC/ACNPC), BLS, ACLS, and experience in cardiothoracic surgery or critical care.

Qualifications

• California RN license without restriction
• California NP license without restriction
• California NP Furnishing Number
• NP board certification aligned with patient population and clinical role
• California Driver License (if required)
• DEA registration with CA address for Schedules 2-5
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
• ACLS certification for NP (AHA)
• Graduation from CA BRN-recognized NP program with master's or doctorate
• NP experience: minimum 6 months
• Minimum 1 year in cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, cardiology or critical care ICU NP
• Adherence to UCSF Medical Staff policies, HIPAA, and billing standards

Responsibilities

• Manage patients across inpatient continuum (ICU to floor) with CT Surgery Fellows, cardiac surgeons, and intensivists
• Perform bedside procedures and assist in the operating room as needed
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care
• Ensure enrollment and documentation compliant with health plans and hospital credentialing
• Attend orientation and onboarding sessions as required
