Job summary

BAS HealthCare in Hartford, CT is seeking an experienced Advanced Practitioner to join the Department of Cardiac Surgery as an operating room Physician Assistant within the Heart & Vascular Institute. You will work under a cardiothoracic surgeon, performing diverse clinical duties and assisting in cardiovascular procedures.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in cardiovascular surgery or has the right qualifications for new graduates.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Master's program.
• Must be licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Physician Assistant in Connecticut.
• Must be certified or eligible to be certified as a Physician Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Serve as operating room Physician Assistant under a cardiothoracic surgeon.
• Perform first assist in cardiovascular surgical procedures.
• Perform endoscopic vessel harvesting.
• Conduct preoperative history and physical examinations.
• Provide postoperative care in an outpatient setting and deliver patient education.
• Schedule is Monday through Friday with periodic weekday and weekend call.
