Job summary

UAB Medicine in Alabama is seeking a dedicated registered nurse to join the 7 North Cardiology Stepdown and Intermediate Care Unit on weekend night shifts.

The role emphasizes telemetry, medication management, and close patient monitoring for high-risk cardiac patients recovering from procedures and other cardiac diagnoses. Qualified candidates will hold an Alabama nursing license, BLS and ACLS, and a diploma from an accredited nursing program.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing and required licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans; monitor, record and communicate patient condition.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders; assess and coordinate discharge planning needs.
