Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Senior Practice Manager to lead complex clinical programs across multiple sites and supervise both clinical and administrative staff. You will ensure efficient day-to-day operations and excellent patient access.

The role requires strong organizational and leadership abilities, 5+ years of healthcare experience, and 2+ years in management, with MBA/MHA preferred for advancement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum 5 years health care experience.
• Minimum 2 years management experience.
• Experience in a clinical environment required.
• Outpatient setting experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
• Excellent analytical skills required.
• MBA or MHA preferred for advancement.
• Academic medical center experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage front-line non-exempt staff including interviewing, hiring, training, progressive discipline, dismissals, performance appraisals, and employee relations.
• Schedule staff and allocate resources across hours of operation to maximize patient access, provider productivity, and efficiency.
• Conduct supply purchasing within budget using online ordering and approved lists.
• Report monthly productivity results to providers and staff.
• Ensure accuracy of data collection and data entry and facilitate flow of information to the Central Office.
• Oversee cash management duties including co-pays, balances, and deposits to influence profitability.
• Participate in corporate committees and task forces as needed.
• Provide financial analysis to support planning and cash flow management and explain variances.
• Communicate budget and variance information to professional staff.
• Identify training opportunities and set performance goals with senior management.
• Define priorities and timelines to optimize resources and maintain a productive work environment.
