Job summary

US Heart and Vascular is seeking a Call Center Specialist to join HeartPlace clinics in the DFW area. You will handle incoming calls, schedule appointments, verify insurance, and assist patients with billing and demographic information.

The role requires strong customer service experience, familiarity with EMR systems, and healthcare knowledge, ideally in cardiology. Monday–Friday schedule with comprehensive benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of EMR systems preferred.
• A High School diploma or GED from an Accredited Institution.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in customer service.
• Cardiology practice experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answers phone calls expediently and refer inquiries to appropriate parties.
• Schedules and confirms patient appointments over the phone.
• Explains health center procedures to patients.
• Verifies medical insurance coverage and eligibility and expires on any insurance that is not active.
• Informs patients with account balances and correct billing amounts.
• Notifies patients with insurance co-pays.
• Verifies patient demographic information.
• Ensures accuracy of information in telephone messages and deciphers correct amount to charge a self-pay or sliding fee schedule for patients.
• Provides referral status information to patients.
• Follows processes and policies for the organization.
• Fosters the goals of team building within the clinic/center staff.
• Manages quality improvement and safety initiatives.
• Maintains a safe workplace by following established safety protocols, reporting hazards, and participating in required safety training.
• Fosters a team-oriented environment by encouraging cooperation, providing support, and resolving conflicts constructively.
• Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and respect in all interactions.
• Reports to work as scheduled, ready to perform duties, and promptly notify their supervisor of any attendance issues.
• Adapts to changing priorities, processes, and business needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
