Job summary

Banner Health in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to provide personalized coordination and communication of administrative aspects of care, including needs assessments, insurance verification, registration, documentation, and scheduling.

You will partner with clinicians to ensure a seamless patient experience across the continuum of care, assist with resources, and handle follow-up tasks while maintaining patient confidentiality and professional communication with patients

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• Requires three or more years in a hospital or medical office; knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient intake and pre-registration/registration; obtains initial authorizations based on care plan; collects insurance information for inpatient, outpatient, and ancillary services.
• Obtains signatures and documentation for patient insurance plans; updates records to ensure maximum reimbursement; monitors changes in insurance data and treatment plans.
• Provide administrative support for documents, proposals, routine correspondence, spreadsheets, reports, and electronic medical records and billing systems.
• Schedules physician appointments, tests, procedures and surgeries; prepares patient documentation for department databases; liaises between patient, billing, and payor to improve receivables and address concerns.
• Enhances patient experience through effective customer service; maintains confidentiality and handles scheduling conflicts; communicates with patients, departments, and providers.
• Manages medical records coordination with hospitals and offices; handles patient referrals for tests and specialty visits; ensures compliance with laws.
• Works independently under supervision, coordinating administrative functions for patient needs assessments, insurance verification, and scheduling; cross-covers other departments as needed.
