Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Penn Medicine approved program (or higher-level equivalent) required.
• MA certification within 90 days of hire (if applicable) and/or completion of an MA program or equivalent experience considered.
• 1+ year related healthcare experience preferred.
• Proficiency in EMR and patient communication is expected.

Responsibilities

• Room patients promptly and document in EMR; review medical history and test results.
• Observe patient condition and inform provider of abnormalities.
• Assist patients with mobility and exam readiness; maintain sterile field during procedures.
• Perform specimen collection and basic laboratory tasks; document results.
• Carry out EKGs and outpatient screening tests and document findings.
• Support minor surgical procedures with instrument handling and patient positioning.
• Respond to emergencies per protocol.
• Provide patient care coordination and post-visit follow-up instructions.
