Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians and the patient care team in a busy practice. You will perform patient prep, document in EMR, and assist with routine exams and tests, sharing a commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities include vitals, phlebotomy, EKGs, minor procedures, care coordination by phone, and ensuring regulatory compliance and a safe patient environment.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma/GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (or 7+ years MA experience) within hire term.
• MA Certification required within 90 days of hire.
• BLS/CPR required per AHA.

Responsibilities

• Promptly rooms patients and documents vitals in EMR.
• Obtains specimens for testing and performs phlebotomy as required.
• Performs EKGs and outpatient screening tests per MD order.
• Assists with minor surgical procedures and maintains sterile field.
• Provides care coordination by phone with patients, specialists, and labs.

Education
