Job summary

Penn Medicine, University of Pennsylvania Health System is seeking Medical Assistants to support physicians and care teams in delivering high-quality patient care. The MA will prepare patients, perform clinical tasks, and document findings in the EMR, while maintaining patient comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include patient rooming, specimen collection such as phlebotomy, administering injections and vaccines as ordered, and coordinating care with nurses and providers.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma/GED is required.
• MA Certification required within 90 days of hire.
• CMA or RMA certification required.
• Completion of a Penn Medicine approved MA program or higher-level equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Rooms patients promptly and prepares for visits using EMR.
• Performs phlebotomy and collect specimens as needed.
• Administers medications and vaccines as directed by provider.
• Maintains infection control and safe patient environment.
• Documents results and care in the EMR and communicates with the provider.
