Job summary

Ascension Health in Franklin, WI is seeking a part-time Patient Access Clerk in the Heart and Vascular department. You will greet visitors, check in/out, schedule or confirm appointments, verify demographics, and obtain insurance authorizations in a busy clinic.

Strong customer service, accuracy with payments and insurance, and teamwork with care teams are essential. The daytime schedule is 24 hours per week with no weekends, and benefits and tuition support are available.

Qualifications

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full patient lifecycle by greeting visitors, handling check-in/out, and scheduling or confirming appointments.
• Secure necessary documentation, verify patient demographics, and obtain insurance authorizations or precertifications.
• Collect co-pays, deductibles, and previous balances and reconcile reports and deposits to ensure financial accuracy.
• Answer telephones, screen calls, take messages, and provide essential clerical support.
