Job summary

Duke Health's Cardiology of Raleigh unit in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Clinical Nurse II to join the healthcare team as a triage nurse and essential clinic member. The role supports direct and indirect patient care within a Cardiology setting.

The position requires RN licensure in North Carolina, an accredited Nursing program, and ACLS within 6 months. 8-hour day shifts, weekday schedule, on-site presence essential.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program.
• All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree are encouraged to enroll in a BSN program within two years of start date, to be completed within seven years.
• Twelve months of clinical experience is required.
• BLS required; ACLS within 6 months of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Manage nurse line for telephone triage and document encounters.
• Evaluate/assess/educate patients prior to procedures and alert MD as needed.
• Start IVs prior to IV Lasix Therapy and monitor patients.
• Handle prescription refills according to protocols.
• Manage PT/INR and provide Warfarin education.
• Maintain department logs and reports for accreditation.
