Job summary

Duke Cardiology of Raleigh, part of Duke Health, is hiring a Clinical Nurse II to serve as a triage nurse and integral member of the healthcare team in Raleigh, NC. The role provides direct and indirect patient care in a cardiology CDU setting.

The position requires an Associate's degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma, NC RN licensure, BLS, ACLS within 6 months, and 8-hour day shifts Monday–Friday with on-site work. Cardiology experience is preferred and relocation assistance is available.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program.
• All RNs without a BSN are encouraged to pursue BSN within specified timelines.
• Triage experience and cardiology exposure preferred.
• Current RN licensure in North Carolina or compact license.
• ACLS within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Manage nurse line for telephone triage and document encounters.
• Assess patients prior to procedures and alert the provider as needed.
• Serve as primary nurse in cardiac diagnostic testing and monitor during procedures.
• Administer medications per orders and established protocols.
• Assist with IV Lasix therapy and handle prescription refills.
• Manage PT/INR and provide Warfarin education.
• Maintain department logs and materials for accreditation.
• Perform intake with vital signs and visit information.
• Provide backup coverage for procedure triage and scheduling.
• Support Unlicensed Assistive Personnel and participate in improvement projects.
• Assist in staff training and cross-coverage.
• Perform other related duties as needed.
