Job summary

Duke Health Cardiology of Raleigh is seeking a Clinical Nurse II to serve as a triage nurse and essential team member, delivering direct and indirect patient care in Raleigh, NC.

The role requires RN licensure in NC, ADN or Nursing Diploma, and 12 months of clinical experience. ACLS within 6 months and on-site shifts Monday–Friday with no weekends. On-site collaboration with a multidisciplinary team is essential.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program.
• Registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree should enroll in BSN within two years and complete within seven years.
• Twelve months of relevant clinical experience required; ACLS within 6 months of hire; BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Manage nurse line for telephone triage and document encounters.
• Assess patients prior to procedures and alert MD for modifications.
• Assist in cardiac diagnostic testing and start IVs; monitor during procedures.
• Administer medications per orders and follow six rights of medication administration.
• Handle IV Lasix therapy and manage referrals/refills per protocol.
• Perform intake, vital signs, and support scheduling; back-up coverage for triage.
