Job summary

Duke University Health System's Cardiology of Raleigh in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Clinical Nurse II to serve as a triage nurse and vital member of the care team, delivering direct and indirect patient care. Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited ADN or Nursing Diploma program.
• Current or compact RN licensure in North Carolina; BLS required.
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
• Twelve months of relevant clinical experience.
• Cardiology experience preferred; triage experience preferred.
• On-site requirement for 8-hour shifts; no weekend/holidays.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs, push/pull 250 lbs, and carry 25 lbs.
• BSN enrollment encouraged within two years of start and completion within seven years.

Responsibilities

• Serve as triage nurse and integral member of the healthcare team.
• Manage nurse line for telephone triage and document encounters.
• Evaluate/assess/educate patients prior to procedures.
• Start IVs and monitor during cardiac procedures and tests.
• Administer medications per orders and protocols.
• Back up procedure triage and scheduling; liaison for staff.
• Participate in performance improvement projects.

NC RN Licensure
