Job summary
The Hartford HealthCare Heart & Vascular Institute is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APRN) leader in Cardiology at Backus Hospital as well as supporting the outpatient Hartford HealthCare Medical Group office setting to coordinate an advanced level of comprehensive health care for cardiology patients.
This role specifically oversees the work of the APP team in cardiology supporting the Norwich provider group of general cardiologists and non-invasive procedural cardiologists
Qualifications
- Master’s degree required; leadership background preferred.
- 5+ years clinical experience; 3+ years in cardiology preferred.
- CT Advanced Practice Provider license and DEA registration required.
- ACLS/BLS certification required; able to work inpatient and outpatient.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical services as cardiac Physician Assistant or APRN.
- Oversee APP team supervision, including work assignments, schedules, training and evaluation.
- Monitor competency and outcomes of care for the APP team; set quality goals.
- Lead discussions on quality results, problem solving, and improvement plans.
- Coach and develop staff; facilitate learning and staff development.
- Participate in annual performance evaluations and hiring processes.
- Act as liaison with nursing, medical staff and management; address patient concerns.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
