Job summary

The Hartford HealthCare Heart & Vascular Institute is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APRN) leader in Cardiology at Backus Hospital and supporting the Hartford HealthCare Medical Group outpatient offices to coordinate an advanced level of comprehensive care for cardiology patients.

This role leads the APP team, drives program development and quality, oversees supervision, education, and policy implementation across inpatient and outpatient settings.

Qualifications

Master’s degree required for PA or APRN leadership.
Licensed as Advanced Practice Provider in CT.
ACLS/BLS certification required; ICU/cardiology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide cardiac PA/APRN clinical services.
Oversee APP team work assignments, schedules, training and evaluation.
Monitor competency and outcomes for APP-delivered care.
Lead quality initiatives and develop education for staff.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses and management for improvements.
