Job summary
Hartford HealthCare Heart & Vascular Institute is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner leader in Cardiology at Backus Hospital who will coordinate an advanced level of comprehensive care for cardiology patients in Norwich. The role oversees the APP team across inpatient and outpatient settings and drives program development and quality initiatives.
The selected leader will supervise, mentor, and evaluate APP staff, align with physician leadership, and foster continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with leadership training.
- Graduate of an approved PA or APRN program.
- 5+ years clinical work; 3+ years in cardiology preferred.
- CT Advanced Practice Provider license, DEA; ACLS/BLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical services as Cardiology PA/APRN.
- Supervise APP team: assignments, schedules, training and evaluation.
- Monitor competency and outcomes for APP team; set quality goals.
- Lead quality improvement discussions and action plans for cardiology care.
- Coach and develop staff; facilitate problem solving and learning.
