Job summary

The Hartford HealthCare Heart & Vascular Institute is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APRN) leader in Cardiology at Backus Hospital and within the Hartford HealthCare Medical Group to coordinate advanced cardiac care. The role oversees the APP team in cardiology supporting Norwich providers and leads program development and quality initiatives.

Responsibilities include clinical supervision, workflow design, staff training, and performance evaluations.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree (PA or APRN) and license.
• 5+ years of clinical work, with cardiology experience preferred.
• ACLS/BLS certification required; DEA license.
• Ability to supervise inpatient and outpatient cardiology activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services as a cardiac PA/APRN.
• Supervise APP team, assign work, train and evaluate staff.
• Monitor competency, outcomes, and quality goals for the APP team.
• Lead program development and quality improvement efforts.
• Coordinate inpatient and outpatient cardiology practices with leadership.
