Job summary

VCU Health System Authority is seeking a Clinical Coordinator for the Cardiology Procedural Care Unit in Richmond, VA. The role focuses on facilitating patient flow, coordinating shift activities, and serving as a clinical resource for interdisciplinary teams.

The position requires a Virginia RN license (or compact state eligibility), BLS HCP certification, and a minimum of three years of clinical experience, with preferred background in academic health care and supervisory duties.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Associate Degree from a nursing program approved by the state's Board of Nursing.
• Must enroll in an approved RN to BSN program within two years of start date and complete within five years.
• Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible compact state.
• AHA BLS HCP certification or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years of clinical experience.
• Charge Nurse or supervisory experience.
• Academic Health Care experience is preferred.
• Experience with similar patient population in an acute care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates patient flow, coordinates activities and communication for the clinical area during assigned shift.
• Serves as a resource and leader for patients, staff, health care providers, administration and other disciplines.
• Ensures patient care is delivered efficiently, with care and courtesy.
• Organizes work and delegates and supervises others (RNs, LPNs, Care Partners, Unit Secretaries, etc.)
• Follows physician/licensed independent provider orders and Virginia nursing regulations.
