Job summary

IMS Care Center LLC in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Charge Entry Clerk for our Cardiology clinic to perform coding and billing in support of physician practices. The role requires evaluating medical records to assign accurate ICD-10 and CPT codes and entering all charges and adjustments into the EHR on a timely basis.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year of coding experience across clinical specialties, with Athena experience preferred.

Qualifications

• One+ year experience providing coding services for a broad range of clinical specialty areas.
• ICD-10 and CPT coding principles knowledge as required by AHIMA competencies.
• Athena experience preferred.
• Ability to work with common office software and coding software.

Responsibilities

• Review medical information from records against billed procedures to ensure accurate coding per guidelines.
• Consult with medical providers to clarify missing or inadequate record information and determine appropriate codes.
• Post charges to patient accounts by pay classification and post payments received.
• Review encounter forms for accuracy and completeness and correct as needed.
• Complete daily/monthly reports and maintain productivity standards set by leadership.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
