Job summary

IMS Care Center, affiliated with Integrated Medical Services, is seeking a Charge Entry Clerk for our Cardiology clinic. The role focuses on coding and billing support, ensuring accurate ICD10/CPT coding and timely entry of charges and adjustments in the EHR.

The ideal candidate has experience in physician practice coding, knowledge of ICD10/CPT guidelines, and proficiency with office software; Athena experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Proficient understanding of ICD10 and CPT coding principles as required by AHIMA competencies.
• Experience providing coding services across multiple clinical specialties.
• Able to work with common office software, coding software, and abstracting systems.

Responsibilities

• Review medical information against billed procedures to ensure accurate coding per guidelines.
• Consult with providers to clarify missing or inadequate information for proper ICD10/CPT coding.
• Post charges and payments to patient accounts per pay classification in the EHR.
