IMS Care Center LLC in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Charge Entry Clerk for our Cardiology clinic to perform coding and billing in support of physician practices. The role requires evaluating medical records to assign accurate ICD-10 and CPT codes and entering all charges and adjustments into the EHR on a timely basis.
The ideal candidate has 1+ year of coding experience across clinical specialties, with Athena experience preferred.

IMS is currently searching for a professional, compassionate and knowledgeable individual to fill the position of a Charge Entry Clerk for our Cardiology clinic. The Charge Entry Clerk will perform coding and billing in support of physician practices. Position will be responsible for evaluating medical records and validating that appropriate clinical diagnosis and procedure codes are assigned in accordance with nationally recognized coding guidelines. This position will also be responsible for entering all charges and adjustments by pay classification into the electronic health record on a timely basis. High School or better.
Associates or better.
Must demonstrateknowledge and understanding of ICD10 and CPT coding principles as recommended by the American Health Information Management Association coding competencies, and as required for the assigned practice areas
Requires one or more years of experience providing coding services for a broad range of clinical specialty areas
Athena experience preferred
Specialized formal training equivalent to the two-year certification course in medical record keeping principles and practices, anatomy, physiology, pathology, medical terminology, standard nomenclature, and classification of diagnoses and operations, or an associate’s degree in a related health care field is preferred
Be able to work effectively with common office software, coding software, and abstracting systems
