A Brief Overview
This scheduler position is part-time, 20 hours a week, with 8-hour shifts. No weekends or holidays. The position requires experience in a healthcare setting and at least 3 years of previous scheduling experience. The main responsibility will be complex scheduling involving multiple schedules. Preference will be given to candidates with EPIC experience and an interest in data. The role involves partnering with triage nurses to understand the urgency of appointment needs.
This position serves as the single point of contact for patients and their families, aiming for "one call does it all." Responsibilities include fielding phone calls and in-person scheduling requests, monitoring and processing online requests, follow-up appointments, second opinions, and tracking referral sources. Must handle complex scheduling across multiple providers at Philadelphia campus and community locations. Also, assist patients/families in obtaining clinical information and records before visits. Proficiency in EPIC and accurate data entry, including insurance verification, are required. Cross-coverage for other access coordinators may be needed.
