Job Details
The Supervisor of Patient Access oversees the daily registration functions within Patient Access's scope of work. Ensures the operational unit is staffed appropriately. Promotes a positive patient experience for patients and families. Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication and customer service skills when interacting with staff, patients, families, and leadership. Supervises efficient and compliant registration processes, ensuring regulatory and compliance requirements are met, including adherence to departmental and institutional protocols. Prioritizes responsibilities to complete daily work requirements, resolves departmental and patient problems as needed, and monitors key performance metrics to ensure goals are achieved.

Job Description
Education:
Associate's degree in healthcare or business administration required, or in lieu of degree, a minimum of 5 years of work experience in a physician office/practice, hospital setting, healthcare insurance provider, or other healthcare relevant experience required. Bachelor's Degree and HFMA Certifications preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of patient registration experience required.
Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a physician office/practice, hospital setting, healthcare insurance provider, or other healthcare relevant experience required.
Proficient with Computer and Microsoft Office skills and familiar with healthcare EHR applications such as EPIC, Cerner.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Requires problem-solving and decision-making skills in a variety of complex situations.
Knowledge of patient registration, third-party insurance coverage including managed care plans, benefits, authorizations/referrals, and coverage requirements.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
Strong quality assurance and critical thinking skills are necessary for this role.
