Baylor Scott & White The Heart Hospital – Frisco seeks a Health Unit Coordinator to support patient care activities and coordinate unit communication. This role plays a pivotal clerical role in a new, state‑of‑the‑art cardiovascular unit opening spring 2027, with orientation beginning summer 2026 at our Heart Hospitals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Less than 1 year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clerical duties to support patient care activities and maintain patient charts.
• Process tests, medications, procedures, and appointments; manage admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Answer telephones and communicate with patients, staff and the public.
• Maintain patient records, organize files, and update boards and telemetry reconciliation.
• Prepare reports, purchase orders, memos and letters using computer programs.
• Greet visitors and coordinate staff communication and paging.
• Assist with transporting supplies and patients as needed.
• Maintain inventory levels and a clean, safe work area.
• Coordinate transportation for patients and items as delegated.
