Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Less than 1 year of experience.
• BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Collects and records patient data and vital signs, reports to nursing staff promptly.
• Assists patients with daily activities such as hygiene, dressing, eating, and mobility.
• Maintains unit and patient records, files, and documents; supports admissions, transfers, discharges and physician calls.
• Prepares reports, purchase orders, memos and letters using computer programs.
• Greets visitors, answers phones, and coordinates with nursing staff; tracks call light response time.
• Performs area support tasks, runs errands, and transports supplies and patients.
• Maintains inventory and stocks supplies and equipment.
• Attends in-services, unit meetings and conferences.
• May provide non-medical patient care duties and assist with comfort items.
