Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an LPN to support RNs on high-acuity patients and assist with UNL loads. You will administer medications, perform IV piggybacks, and participate in care planning after RN initiation.

Responsibilities include dressing changes, trach and NG care, ostomy care, and reinforcing discharge instructions. Certification requirements include LPN licensure (IDFPR) and BLS, with a college diploma in nursing.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensed by IDFPR.
• BLS certification within 30 days - American Heart Association.
• College Diploma: Licensed Practical Nurse required.

Responsibilities

• Passes all medications and hangs IV piggybacks.
• Charts assessments on assigned patients after RN initial assessment.
• Charts on care plans opened by the RN.
• Collaborate with RN to open new care plans as needed.
• Communicate with physicians/APPs to receive orders.
• Perform dressing changes and trach care as needed.
• Insert and care for NG tube and feedings.
• Care for and change ostomy; reinforce discharge instructions.
