Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an LPN to support RNs with high-acuity patients and to assist UNLs when paired. The LPN responsibilities include medication administration, IV piggyback fluids, wound care, NG tube care, ostomy care and reinforcement of discharge instructions.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license (Illinois).
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire (AHA).
• College Diploma: Licensed Practical Nurse required.

Responsibilities

• Passes all medications and administers IV piggybacks and fluids, excluding IV Push meds.
• Charts assessments on assigned patients after the RN's initial assessment and care plan.
• Charts on care plans opened by the RN and supports with new plans as needed.
• Communicates with physicians/APPs to receive orders and coordinate care.
• Complete dressing changes, trach care, and NG tube care and feedings.
• Care for ostomy and reinforce discharge instructions.
