Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support RNs with high-acuity patients and assist with UNL patient load. Responsibilities include medication administration, IV piggyback management, trach care, dressing changes, NG tube care, ostomy care and discharge education.

The role involves charting assessments and care plans after the RN's initial assessment, and coordinating with physicians and APPs to ensure timely orders and patient care.

Qualifications

• LPN licensure required; BLS within 30 days.
• RN collaboration for initial assessments and care plans.
• Nursing duties include meds administration and IV piggybacks.

Responsibilities

• Passes medications and hangs IV piggybacks (excluding IV Push).
• Charts initial assessments after RN completes first assessment.
• Charts care plans opened by the RN and helps open new plans as needed.
• Communicates with physicians/APPs to receive orders and coordinate care.
• Performs dressing changes, trach care, NG tube care and feedings.
• Care for ostomies and reinforce discharge instructions.
