Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an LPN to join a team supporting RNs with high-acuity patients and UNL patients. You will perform oral meds, IV piggybacks, trach care, dressing changes, and assist with assessments and care plans after the RN initiates care.

Responsibilities include charting, coordinating with physicians/APPs, performing dressing changes and NG care, and reinforcing discharge instructions. LPN licensure and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing and current up‑to‑date BLS certification.
• College diploma in Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or equivalent required.
• Experience with medication administration and basic bedside care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Passes all medications and hangs IV piggybacks and fluids (excluding IV push meds).
• Charts assessments on assigned patients after RN's initial assessment.
• Charts on care plans opened by the RN; support RN to open new plans as needed.
• Communicate with physicians/APPs to receive orders and coordinate care.
• Perform dressing changes, trach care, NG tube care and feedings as needed.
• Care for and change ostomy, reinforce discharge instructions.
