Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Illinois to assist RNs and UNLs with patient loads and care plans. The role includes administering medications, performing IV piggybacks, dressing changes, and care for NG tubes and ostomies, under RN supervision.

Responsibilities include documenting assessments, coordinating orders with physicians, and reinforcing discharge instructions to patients.

Qualifications

• Must hold an Illinois LPN license (IDFPR).
• BLS certification within 30 days - AHA.

Responsibilities

• Passes all medications, hangs IV piggybacks and fluids (excluding IV Push).
• Charts assessments on assigned patients after RN initial assessment.
• Charts care plans opened by RN, and assists RN with new care plans as needed.
• Communicate with physicians/APPs for orders and coordinate patient care.
• Perform dressing changes and trach care as needed.
• Insert and care for NG tube and feedings through NG tube; care for ostomy.
• Reinforce discharge instructions to patients and families.
