Job summary

Carle Health in Illinois is seeking a licensed practical nurse (LPN) to support RNs with high acuity and assist UNL patients when paired with RN. The role includes med administration, IV piggybacks, NG/ostomy care and initial documentation after RN assessment.

You will work under RN guidance, communicate with physicians, reinforce discharge instructions and participate in care planning. A valid IL LPN license and BLS are required; College Diploma in LPN and ongoing education encouraged.

Qualifications

• LPN must hold a license to practice in IL.
• BLS certification within 30 days of start is required.
• College diploma or higher in Nursing (LPN) required.

Responsibilities

• Passes medications and administers IV piggybacks and fluids, excluding IV Push meds.
• Charts initial assessments and assists with care plans as directed by the RN.
• Communicates with physicians/APPs to receive orders and coordinate patient care.
• Performs dressing changes, trache care, NG tube care and ostomy care as needed.
• Reinforces discharge instructions and patient education.
