Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to assist RNs with high-acuity patients and to support UNL patients alongside the RN. The role includes medication administration, IV therapies, wound care, and documentation after the RN’s initial assessment.

The LPN will collaborate with RNs to manage care plans, communicate with physicians/APPs for orders, and provide patient education and discharge guidance as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Certified LPN (IDFPR) required.
• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA).
• Education: College diploma as LPN required.

Responsibilities

• Passes all medications and administers IV piggybacks/fluids (excludes IV Push).
• Charting assessments and care plans after RN initial assessment.
• Coordinate with physicians/APPs to receive orders and coordinate care.
• Perform dressing changes, trach care, NG tube care, ostomy care as needed.
• Reinforce patient education and discharge instructions.
