Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System in New York City seeks an Assistant Nurse Manager for the Cardiac Vascular Thoracic unit, night shift. You will lead clinical practice, ensure patient-centered care and partner with the Nurse Manager to drive quality and safety.

Requirements include a BSN (MSN preferred), 2–3 years of clinical nursing with supervisory experience, and an NYS RN license (ACLS/BLS; CCRN preferred).

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required; Masters in nursing or health related field preferred.
• 2-3 years clinical nursing experience with some Charge Nurse/Supervisory experience preferred.
• ACLS, BLS; (ANCC & CCRN preferred)
• Licensed as a registered nurse with current registration in New York State

Responsibilities

• Lead nursing practice using the tenets of professional practice models to promote patient experience.
• Demonstrates proficiency in Purposeful Hourly Rounding (PHR) and role models expected behaviors.
• Ensures integration of PHR into clinical activities to enhance Relationship Centered Care.
• Assists in validation of staff rounding hourly on all patients by direct observation and feedback.
• Assess staff competency in PHR and provide consistent feedback.
• Conducts rounding of all patients on a daily basis when Nurse Manager is away.
• Communicates data regarding patient experience and staff engagement to lead to action plans.
• Collaborates with physician dyad and escalates concerns as appropriate.
• Follows up on patient concerns and provides service recovery as needed.
• Demonstrates caring, respect, compassion, empathy and active listening.
