Job summary

Abrazo West Campus hospital is seeking a patient unit clerk to provide clerical and reception duties at nursing stations. You will maintain patient records, transcribe orders, and assist in admission coordination to promote an organized unit.

Responsibilities include greeting patients and visitors, routing calls and mail, and ensuring timely communication of urgent results. A High School Diploma or GED is required, CPR is preferred, and hospital experience is beneficial.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use phone and fax.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient records.
• Assist in admission coordination of patients.
• Transcribe and input physicians orders and patient information timely and accurately.
• Notify nurse of orders needing immediate attention and of stat/abnormal/diagnostic results.
• Screen and deliver phone and mail; greet and direct patients, visitors, physicians and staff.
• Assess and prioritize a rapidly changing workload; complete work in a timely manner; maintain a tidy work area.
