Job summary

Wilson Medical Center is seeking a Cardiac Ultrasound Technician to join our team on a PRN, day-shift basis. The role involves performing sonographic examinations, maintaining equipment, and providing patient-centered care within a busy radiology environment.

Qualifications include a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program, BLS within 30 days, and at least 1 year of DMS experience. ARRT/DMS certification is required or eligible. Excellent communication and critical thinking are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or School of Radiology required.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• One year DMS experience preferred.
• ARRT licensure or DMS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs sonographic examinations and procedures as requested by the referring physician.
• Maintains supplies and a clean, organized work area; notifies supervisor of needed items.
• Maintains equipment to ensure accuracy and longevity.
• Provides age-appropriate care to all patients.
• Acts as a consultant and resource for scan appropriateness and accuracy.

How You'll Contribute

• Performs sonographic examinations and procedures as requested by the referring physician delivery of care and services.
• Maintains appropriate supplies and a clean and orderly work area. Notifies supervisor of needed items.
• Maintains equipment to ensure accuracy and longevity.
• Provides age-appropriate care to all patients.
• Acts as a physician/staff consultant and educational resources for appropriateness and accuracy of scans.

What We're Looking For

• Education: Graduate of Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or School of Radiology Required
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hiring
• Experience: one year of DMS experience preferred
• License: American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) Other; Graduate from an accredited DMS program OR DMS Certification.
• Skills and Abilities: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
