Job summary

Corewell Health Wayne Hospital is seeking a Part-time Echocardiography Sonographer to perform comprehensive cardiac ultrasound examinations, including 2D imaging, spectral and color Doppler, and transesophageal studies. The role may mentor students and ultrasonography staff. RDCS/ACS/RCS credentials are required.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent.
• Graduate of Diagnostic Ultrasound Program or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year experience in the listed credentials.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations including 2D imaging, spectral and color Doppler, and m-mode.
• Transesophageal, exercise and pharmacologic echocardiograms; left ventricular opacification studies.
• Mentor/preceptor for Ultrasonographers and students.

Job description

PART TIME-DAYS About Corewell Health Wayne Hospital

Corewell Health Wayne Hospital opened its doors to western Wayne communities in 1957. This full-service hospital is the only hospital in the Wayne, Westland, Garden City, Canton, Inkster and Romulus area verified by the American College of Surgeons as a Level III Trauma Center. The hospital has a longstanding partnership with Detroit Metropolitan Airport and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to handle a wide variety of health and communicable disease concerns including mass trauma and emergency patients.

Scope to Work Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations consisting of: Two-dimensional imaging, spectral and color flow Doppler, m-mode; trans esophageal; exercise and pharmacologic echocardiograms; saline and left ventricular opacification studies on adult patients. Instruction of medical personnel in technical performance, clinical application, and cardiac pathology as it pertains to cardiac ultrasound. May act as a mentor/preceptor for other Ultrasonographers and/or students. This is a Cardiac Ultrasound position; only RDCS, ACS, or RCS credentials are required.

Qualifications Required associate's degree or equivalent Graduate of Diagnostic Ultrasound Program or equivalent. Minimal as gained at student level.
