Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Cardiac Medical Telemetry unit in Glenview, IL. The role supports RN/LPN staff, delivers essential patient care, monitors vital signs and mobility, and ensures patient safety on a 7p-7a night shift with rotating weekends.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, preparing patients for procedures, documenting activity, and providing compassionate customer service to patients and families in a fast-paced hospital environment.

• Responsible for patient care tasks under RN/LPN supervision
• Excellent customer service and communication
• Ability to follow safety procedures
• Willing to work night shifts and weekends

Responsibilities

• Patient & Visitor Interactions /Customer Service/Hourly Rounding: Interact with patients and visitors, answer call lights, answer phones, assist visitors; perform hourly rounding on assigned patients.
• Patient Safe Handling/Ambulation/Repositioning: Learn safe handling to assist ambulation and transfers with nursing staff.
• Basic Nursing Care- ADLs: Assist patients with bathing, grooming, feeding, toileting, positioning, etc., under RN/LPN supervision; follow safety policies.
• Admission/Discharge/Transfers: Assist with room setup, orientation, discharge and transfers; transport patients safely.
• Procedures and Treatments: Document care activities, perform simple procedures under nurse direction, notify appropriate staff.
• Care Companion/Sitter/Observer: May supervise with RN/LPN to keep patient safe.
• Department Specific Tasks: Restock equipment/linens, handle calls, file records, deliver supplies.
