Job summary

CommonSpirit Health seeks a Monitor Tech to continuously observe and analyze patients' cardiac rhythms, document findings, and report changes to nursing staff. You will monitor EKG strips, set up telemetry, and ensure accurate labeling and timely communication to clinicians.

Ideal candidates have a strong understanding of cardiac rhythms, sharp observational skills, and the ability to act quickly under pressure to support patient safety and timely intervention.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited EKG Technician Program.
• Completed internship at Baylor St Luke’s Medical Center or equivalent.
• One year of experience as a Monitor Tech, EMT, or Paramedic.
• Basic Life Support - CPR within 14 days.

Responsibilities

• Continuous observation of monitored EKG patterns and pulse oximetry as ordered.
• Troubleshoot telemetry equipment and ensure monitors function properly.
• Identify changes in rate, rhythm, or pattern and notify RN; respond to emergencies.
• Assist in answering telephone and ensure transmitters are cleaned between patients.
• Commit to ongoing professional development through annual in-services and unit meetings.
