The role supports patient safety and effective care delivery through prompt communication with the healthcare team. Responsibilities include recording rhythm strips, notifying staff of changes, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring proper lead placement and configuration.

Qualifications

• Completion of a telemetry or EKG interpretation course during orientation period required.
• 0-2 years of clerical and/or clinical experience in a medical setting required.

Responsibilities

• Continuously observes and interprets telemetry monitors, recording rhythm strips at established intervals.
• Identifies and notifies nurses of rhythm changes, including life-threatening arrhythmias.
• Communicates findings to the healthcare team for coordinated care.
• Troubleshoots and resolves monitoring equipment issues; escalate as directed.
• Organizes and tracks monitoring equipment during shifts for admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Ensures correct lead placement and electrode application for accurate telemetry.
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains regular attendance and policy compliance.
