Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a Nursing Assistant in Barrington, IL for full-time day shifts. The role involves assisting the RN with daily patient care, vital signs, and documentation in EMR, with rotating weekends/holidays. Requires BLS within 45 days and state-registered Nurse Aide in good standing, plus GED/high school diploma.

Position offers 36 hours weekly, 6:30 am–7:00 pm, with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities within the Med Surg IU 2 Cardiac unit.

Qualifications

BLS certification must be obtained within 45 days.
Nurse Aide in good standing with State Registry.
GED or High School diploma required.
Basic computer literacy.

Responsibilities

Assist RN with daily patient care including bathing, feeding, and mobility.
Measure and document vitals, intake/output, and daily weights; record in EMR.
Perform purposeful rounding and communicate observations to RN.
Assist with admissions, transfers and discharges and room setup.
Collect urine, stool, and sputum; perform point-of-care testing as indicated.
Handle errands and maintain nursing area supplies; clean equipment and work areas.
Assist with patient positioning and nutrition-related tasks.
Maintain skin integrity and use support devices as needed.
May remove IVs or provide post-mortem care as directed.
Follow infection prevention policies and proper hygiene.
