Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Cardiac Care unit at Sherman Hospital in Elgin, IL. This part-time role covers 7pm to 7am, with rotating weekends and holidays, and includes benefits eligibility for a 48-bed unit with advanced cardiac care.

You will assist RNs, document vital signs, support admission/discharge processes, and help maintain patient comfort and safety in a high-acuity setting.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities.
• Certification Addendum
• Team members will maintain annual educational requirements for hospital based certifications (e.g. DNV, CARF or others).

Responsibilities

• Assists RN with daily patient care including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, mobility and transfers.
• Measures and documents vital signs and intake/output in EMR.
• R rounds with RN; communicates observations and needs to RN.
• Participates in admissions, transfers, discharges; assists with room setup and patient belongings.
• Collects specimens and performs point-of-care testing as indicated; maintains competency.
