Job summary

Northwestern Medicine's 26-bed cardiac step-down unit within the BCVI in a suburban setting seeks a clinically competent RN. Full-time days 7am-7:30pm with rotating shifts, caring for patients post cardiac surgery and various cardiovascular diagnoses.

The RN must hold an Illinois RN license with a BSN (ADN acceptable if BSN pursued within 3 years). BLS and strong collaboration skills are required; an equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license in good standing.
• BLS certification required.
• ADN acceptable if committed to obtain BSN within 3 years of start.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data; develops an individualized plan; coordinates care.
• Directs care and uses any needed assistants.
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and staff; documents care plan.
• Participates in governance, committees and unit projects.
• Evaluates patient responses and updates the plan of care.
• Uses evidence-based practice to guide decisions.
