Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a part-time Staff Nurse for the 2A inpatient unit in Winfield, IL, to provide direct care to acutely ill adults on a step-down unit with complex surgical and medical cases.

The role supports patient care with a 1:3-4 nurse-to-patient ratio, participates in care planning, and collaborates with the health team to ensure safe, evidence-based practice. BSN preferred; ADN acceptable with commitment to BSN within three years; IL RN license and BLS required.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred and active Illinois RN license required.
• BLS certification is required.
• ADN acceptable if committed to obtain BSN within 3 years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to acutely ill adults on a step-down unit.
• Coordinate care with the health team and plan patient care.
• Monitor and document patient status, administer medications, and adjust plans as needed.
• Participate in shared governance and unit projects.
• Adhere to ethics, compliance, and regulatory standards.
