Job summary

Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital is seeking a part-time night shift RN for a 26-bed unit serving adults with acute medical, surgical and cardiac conditions. The role involves care for complex surgeries and high-acuity patients with careful attention to patient safety and throughput.

Qualifications

BSN is required for this role.
Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license is required.
BLS certification from AHA is required.
ADN acceptable with commitment to obtain BSN within three years of first day of employment in a clinical nurse role.
Must have strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
Strong analytic abilities.

Responsibilities

Collect and analyze data, identify expected outcomes, develop and implement individualized plans, coordinate care delivery and evaluate progress toward attainment of outcomes.
Direct care and determine the appropriate utilization of assistants involved in providing direct patient care.
Collaborate with patients, families, physicians and ancillary staff; create a documented plan focused on outcomes and decisions related to care delivery.
Participate in shared governance, committee work, and unit projects.
Evaluate and document patient responses to nursing interventions in the health record and individualize the plan of care based on evaluation findings.
Utilize the best available evidence, including research findings, to guide practice decisions.
