Job summary

UW Health in Madison, WI is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join a 15-bed step-down unit serving vascular, cardiac surgery, and cardiology adults. The role includes evening/night shifts (7:00 pm–7:30 am) with a two-in-six weekend rotation and holiday coverage.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in WI or compact license at hire.
• Current CPR/BLS certification at hire.
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Six months of nursing experience or completion of UW Health Nurse Residency Program on unit or similar unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide care on a 15-bed step-down unit for vascular, cardiac surgery, and cardiology patients.
• Participate in shared governance and unit-based council for quality improvement.
• Utilize evidence-based practice and collaborate with care team to support patient- and family-centered care.
• Care for patients with chest tubes, feeding tubes, drips, drains, and post-op vascular/cardiac procedures.
