Job summary

Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital seeks a skilled Cardiac Ultrasound professional to perform comprehensive cardiac ultrasound studies and provide guidance to colleagues and students. The role emphasizes advanced imaging, pathology interpretation, and mentorship within the Echo department.

The position requires RDCS or RCS credentials and ARDMS certifications, with potential for teaching responsibilities and participation in a teaching hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound including 2D imaging, spectral and color Doppler, and m‑mode.
• Instruct staff on technical performance and pathology related to ultrasound.
• May mentor/preceptor Ultrasonographers and students.

Responsibilities

Scope to Work

Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations consisting of: Two-dimensional imaging, spectral and color flow Doppler, m-mode; trans esophageal; exercise and pharmacologic echocardiograms; saline and left ventricular opacification studies on adult patients. Instruction of medical personnel in technical performance, clinical application, and cardiac pathology as it pertains to cardiac ultrasound. May act as a mentor/preceptor for other Ultrasonographers and/or students.

This is a Cardiac Ultrasound position; only RDCS, ACS, or RCS credentials are required

Qualifications

• Required associate's degree or equivalent Graduate of Diagnostic Ultrasound Program or equivalent.


• Minimal as gained at student level. Required


• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required Or


• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire required


• CRT-Sonographer (S) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography EXCLUDE Cardiac 1 Year required
